Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited situations in which another service may receive it. By continuing to use Coosa County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies the response. Coosa County Criminal History does not keep or record those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to review and answer it. The message remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server automatically receives basic technical and usage details, which can include:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • Your device's assigned IP address
  • The referring website, when one is reported
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on them

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. You may block cookies through browser controls, although doing so can change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected outside provider
  • Maintain site speed, operation, and availability
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Understand which resources visitors use most
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Coosa County Criminal History does not host, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official routes to Coosa County records, including the sheriff, the local courts, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into third-party dossiers or consumer reports. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted to one of those tools is governed by that company's privacy policy, data-retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review the provider's terms before entering a query because those practices are outside our control.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Coosa County offices, Alabama court services, ALEA CJIS resources, legal-aid organizations, or outside search providers. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy controls its handling of information. Read that policy before sharing personal details.

Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. Any such tracking takes place through the provider's systems and policies.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Advertising networks that serve ads
  • Search providers that process a submitted query
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, commonly used security measures protect the information collected. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, so this website cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary with the law that applies where you live. In Alabama, the Alabama Open Records Act, Ala. Code § 36-12-40, concerns access to public writings held by government custodians and does not convert this private website into a public agency. Alabama's Rules of Court-Record Privacy and Confidentiality govern protected data in Alabama court records. Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Object to certain forms of data processing
  • Request access to personal data held about you
  • Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
  • Seek deletion where the law permits it

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A changed version will be posted here and will carry a new effective date so visitors can identify the policy then in force.

Effective date: July 14, 2026
